Minister Teten Appreciates Lazada For MSME Vaccination, 12,000 People Will Be Vaccinated With COVID-19

JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki encourages the acceleration of the vaccination program for MSME players throughout Indonesia in order to achieve herd immunity or group immunity as well as improve performance in economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

Teten appreciates the vaccination for MSME players, courier partners, logistics workers, and consumers carried out by Lazada Indonesia in collaboration with Good Doctor Indonesia in the Vaccination program for Digital Economy Heroes which will be held simultaneously in a number of provinces in Indonesia on 12 - 27 July 2021.

With a target of around 12,000 people to be vaccinated, Teten called Lazada's move a positive thing for the national economy.

The Coordinating Minister for SMEs acknowledged that Indonesia is currently experiencing challenges in dealing with a pandemic whose impact on people's lives and the economy can be felt.

"We will continue to support various vaccination programs throughout Indonesia. Especially for SMEs," said Teten.

The implementation of the largest vaccination program is centered at Lazada's main warehouse in Cimanggis, Depok, West Java. This location is the largest and most modern e-commerce logistics facility in Indonesia and one of the largest in Southeast Asia.

On the same occasion, Lazada Indonesia Country Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs Waizly Darwin said that this program is a form of commitment to support the national vaccination program to suppress the spread of COVID-19. Especially, for those who work in the logistics sector in the realm of the digital economy, which is the vanguard of a critical sector in this Emergency PPKM period.

In implementing this program, Lazada partners with many parties, from logistics partners, warehouses, to the MSME community.

"This vaccination program is not only our initiative in protecting the heroes of the digital economy, but also as a form to restore the Indonesian economy," said Waizly Darwin.

Waizly Darwin stated that the Lazada Vaccine Center program in Cimanggis, Depok, West Java is also open to the general public and was implemented thanks to the support of the government, both central and regional. These include the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, West Java Provincial Government, and Depok City Government.
