Ridwan Kamil: Hospital Bed Occupancy Rate Drops, Emergency Tents Will Be Unloaded
BANDUNG - West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil said the hospital's Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) for COVID-19 patients had fallen again.
"The good news today is that our BOR continues to fall from its peak on July 4, our hospital reached 90.69 percent. Today it has dropped to 75.16 percent. ," said Ridwan Kamil in Bandung, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 23.
On July 4, the BOR in West Java had touched 90.69 percent but with various efforts made, the BOR trend continued to decline. This condition has been reported to Vice President Ma'ruf Amin during a COVID-19 management meeting in West Java virtually from the Pakuan State Building, Bandung City.
There are also various efforts made to reduce BOR, such as increasing the number of centralized isolation rooms, including in villages/kelurahan. Then increase the capacity of the bed. Then prepare hotels, apartments for post-treatment recovery centers.
"So upstream we were detained in the village isolation center, in the end we moved it to the recovery center," said the man who is often called Kang Emil.
Regarding daily cases, Ridwan Kamil admitted that it was still quite high even though the numbers continued to fall. In total, the number of active COVID-19 cases in West Java has reached 123,000 and the majority are self-isolating at home.
"In general, we have 123,000 active cases, the majority of COVID-19 patients in West Java are at home in isoman form. Those who recovered 405,000 died a total of 7,611," said Ridwan Kamil.
Ridwan Kamil explained, the increase in active cases in West Java began during the Eid al-Fitr holiday and the presence of the COVID-19 delta variant which increasingly made the number of cases high. Prior to Eid al-Fitr, West Java's BOR figure was below 30 percent, as well as active cases of COVID-19 which were still below the national average.
"The COVID-19 delta variant cannot be limited by administrative restrictions, so the issue of rising is not only in West Java but in Java and Bali," said Ridwan Kamil.
Regarding the level of compliance of the Emergency PPKM community, Ridwan Kamil said there was a slight increase. Especially the discipline to wear masks, keep a distance, and wash hands with soap.
"We have an application to measure discipline, 670,000 points reported via cellphone. Between the period during PPKM there were 4 million people monitored. Today, observance of wearing masks is at 86 percent, keeping distance at 85 percent," he explained
The percentage of people who stay at home during Emergency PPKM has also increased. Even though based on the mobility index, there are still some areas with high movement at night, especially in industrial areas.
"If we use other technologies, the percentage of people who are at home increases from an average of 30 percent who are not going anywhere," said Kang Emil.
In addition, Ridwan Kamil said the West Java Provincial Government would continue to accelerate the vaccination program. The reason, when viewed from the percentage of vaccinations in West Java is still quite lacking.
According to him, this is due to the lack of vaccine supply. Actually there is already a stock of 10 million doses obtained from the central government. Of this amount, 72 percent has been injected into the community.
"Today's vaccinations have run out of 10 million doses, 72 percent have been realized. Then according to the Minister of Health's policy, 28 percent should not be saved for two doses," he said.
