On Monday, Rupiah Was Closed With Thin 8 Points To Rp. 13,885 Per US Dollar
JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate on the spot market closed slightly lower on Monday, June 8 trading. Ruipah weakened 8 points or 0.05 percent to the level of Rp. 13,885 per US dollar (US).
Monex Investindo Futures Head Researcher, Ariston Tjendra said, in fact there was no negative sentiment that stood out in the market today.
"So the market may consolidate. The market is still responding positively to the opening of the economy in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak. JCI itself looks positive," said Ariston to VOI.
This afternoon, currencies in the Asian region moved mixed. The Malaysian ringgit led the way, in which the currency has appreciated 0.27 percent against the US dollar.
Followed by the South Korean won and Thai baht, which strengthened respectively 0.21 percent and 0.20 percent. Then the Singapore dollar strengthened 0.13 percent, and the Chinese yuan appreciated 0.12 percent.
Meanwhile, the currency that weakened against the US dollar apart from the rupiah was the Philippine peso, which weakened 0.23 percent.
