NTT Prosecutor: 19 Defendants And Convicts Are Still Fugitives
JAKARTA - The High Prosecutor's Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province (Kejati NTT) is still pursuing 19 fugitives in corruption and general criminal cases who are on the wanted list (DPO).
"There are 19 defendants and convicts who are still fugitives and are currently in the process of searching for the NTT High Prosecutor's Office," said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the NTT Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim, to reporters in Kupang, reported by Antara, Thursday, July 22.
According to him, 19 people who are included in the DPO of the NTT Prosecutor's Office are defendants and convicts in cases of corruption and general crimes.
He said the NTT Prosecutor's Office and the Indonesian Attorney General's Office for Arresting Fugitives (Tabur) team always coordinated to arrest the 19 fugitives.
Abdul Hakim said that during the January-July 2021 period, the NTT Prosecutor's Office had arrested eight people who were included in the DPO, both suspects and convicts.
The eight people who were arrested, respectively, Fransiskus Saverius Benyamin Paun, are the DPO of the Ende District Attorney, Dewi Susiani is the DPO of the NTT Prosecutor's Office, Dominggus Lokollo is included in the DPO of the Kupang District Attorney. (TTU).
Abdul Hakim added that the East Nusa Tenggara Attorney General's Office team and the Attorney General's Office had also arrested three DPOs from the Kupang District Attorney's Office, namely Stefen Agustinus, Yeheskiel Bansole, and Daniel Fangi.
Meanwhile, another DPO, Paskalis Oematasn, is a DPO from the Alor District Attorney's Office.
He said the NTT Prosecutor's Office continued to make efforts to arrest the 19 DPOs who had not been arrested in coordination with various parties to speed up the arrests of the fugitives.
"We expect them to turn themselves in, in order to undergo the legal process that is being carried out," said Abdul Hakim.
