Puan Maharani Calls AGO The Commander In Chief Of The War On Corruption, Reminds President Jokowi's Important Directions
JAKARATA - Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, assessed that the Attorney General's Office (AGO) is a warlord in an effort to eradicate corruption. Puan hopes that this institution will continue to improve its performance.
"The Prosecutor's Office is a warlord in achieving the ideals of a corruption-free Indonesia. This nation is fighting to eradicate corruption, and the Indonesian Prosecutor's Office is like its warlord, who determines our victory," said Puan commemorating Prosecutor's Day or Bhakti Adhyaksa Day, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 22.
The celebration of the 61st Prosecutor's Day in 2021 takes the theme "Working for the Nation." Puan hopes that at the age of 61 years of the Prosecutor's Office, the institution will be more mature and actively fight as the backbone of law enforcement in Indonesia.
In addition, Puan also reminded the Attorney General's Office to follow up on President Joko Widodo's directives to realize an Advanced Indonesia. Law enforcement no longer focuses on how many corruption cases are handled, but rather on efforts to ensure an area free from corruption.
"We all dream of a day where the entire territory of Indonesia is free from corruption. All the people, civil servants, office holders, and leaders and their staff have implemented it wholeheartedly to avoid any potential corruption in their every action," he said.
Regarding the implementation of law enforcement, Puan encourages the Prosecutor's Office to use information technology to support the success of work at the center and in the regions.
According to him, this is especially true because Indonesia is welcoming the Industrial Revolution 4.0 which is transforming all economic and social aspects, so the Prosecutor's Office must continue to work hand in hand with technology so that it is always relevant to the conditions of the times.
“We want synergies and data integration between the center and the regions so that case enforcement across administrative areas can be executed accurately and precisely because the data is trusted and protected. This information technology can also be the main support to strengthen the internal prosecutor's office and carry out bureaucratic reform efforts," he said.
