SOE Employees Disseminating Hoaks At Jagasatru Cirebon Market Arrested, Their Motive Wanted To Adsense Youtube

CIREBON - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cirebon City Police, West Java, arrested the perpetrators for spreading false news about the riots that occurred at Jagasatru Market. The hoax spreader admitted that he wanted to increase his audience as well as reap Adsense on his YouTube account.

"Perpetrator received a video of a riot in one of the markets in Aceh, and then uploaded it to attract the public that the video happened at Jagastru Market, Cirebon City", said Cirebon City Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP I Putu Asti Hermawan Sentosa, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 21.

He said the perpetrator who spread false news who was arrested with the initials ISP (31) was an employee of a state-owned company or state-owned company.

The arrest of the perpetrators began because of a viral video about a riot at Jagastru Market, Cirebon City, where the content received public attention.

According to Hermawan, his party found the first account that spread the video, namely Facebook and YouTube accounts belonging to the perpetrators.

"Then the day after it went viral, the officers immediately arrested the perpetrator", he said.

The police chief added that the motive for spreading the fake news was to increase the audience on his YouTube account. From the hands of the perpetrators confiscated the mobile phone used to distribute the video.

"The perpetrator's motive is to increase Adsense from the content he has", he continued.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Law No. 1/1946 article 14 concerning criminal law regulations, which carries a prison sentence of about 10 years. About the spread of fake news that causes a public commotion.
