JAKARTA - Facebook is getting serious about developing its business in Indonesia. They are even looking for someone to fill the position of leader (Country Head) of WhatsApp Indonesia.

This is known from the opening of job vacancies on the career page on the official Facebook site. It says that Facebook is looking for people to work as the head of WhatsApp's representative in Indonesian territory.

"WhatsApp is looking for extraordinary individuals to lead our company in Indonesia. This is a senior leadership position that requires experience in building partnerships and developing businesses in Indonesia effectively," wrote Facebook in a career column.

In fact, this is not a big surprise from Facebook, because this social media platform is indeed developing its business in the Southeast Asia region, especially Indonesia. This can be seen from the injection of fresh Facebook funds via WhatsApp Pay to Gojek.

So it is likely that WhatsApp needs people with extra experience to work together in the Gojek ecosystem later. Where one of the qualifications needed is experience in the field of e-commerce.

The responsibility burden of this job is also not easy. As the head representative of the WhatsApp Indonesia branch office, it will be supervised by the Chief Operating Officer of WhatsApp, Matthew Idema.
