The Story Of A Sacrificial Cow Trader In Jakut, Income Slightly Increases Compared To Last Year
JAKARTA - While observing the lined up cows, Mukmin is busy picking up phone calls from buyers who ordered animals to be sacrificed on the day before Eid al-Adha 1442 H this afternoon.
When met by VOI in the field in Sukapura Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, Mukmin said he was grateful. The income he got from selling sacrificial animals in the second year of the pandemic increased slightly.
"Alhamdulillah, this year 60 percent of my sacrificial cows have been sold. Last year, only 40 percent were sold," said Mukmin to VOI, Monday, July 19.
In fact, Mukmin said that the income from trading sacrificial cattle this year has also increased from before the pandemic. In 2019, only 50 percent of the sacrificial animals sold.
Buyers who order cattle at a price of around Rp. 30 million at their place of business also come from various places, ranging from around North Jakarta, to other buffer areas such as Bekasi and Cikarang.
"Indeed, if people have the intention to sacrifice, even though there is a pandemic, thank God there are no obstacles. Even though there is a slight lack of income, we as Muslims try to sacrifice," said Mukmin
For information, the government through the Ministry of Religion announced that this year's Eid will fall on July 20, 2021. This decision is based on the stipulation of 1 Dzulhijjah 1442 Hijri which falls on Sunday, July 11, 2020.
"The height of the new moon in all parts of Indonesia is above the horizon between 2 degrees 21 minutes to 4 degrees 14 minutes. Based on this position, 1 Dzulhijjah 1442 is set to fall on Sunday, July 11, 2021 and of course Eid al-Adha will fall on Tuesday, July 20, 2021," said Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas on Saturday, July 10.
The Minister of Religion added that related to the determination of the Emergency PPKM, the Ministry of Religion has issued two circulars (SE) at once. First SE Minister of Religion No. 16 of 2021 concerning Technical Guidelines for the Implementation of the Takbiran Night and the Implementation of the Sacrifice in 2021.
Second, the Minister of Religion Decree No. 17 of 2021 concerning the Temporary Elimination of Worship in Places of Worship, Takbiran Nights, Eid Prayers, and Technical Guidelines for the Implementation of the 2021 Sacrifice in the area where the Emergency PPKM is applied.
"The temporary elimination of worship in the Emergency PPKM area is absolute to be able to help overcome the current pandemic," he said.
Meanwhile, worship outside the Emergency PPKM and the orange zone can be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Minister of Religion Decree No. 16 of 2021.
Meanwhile, the slaughter of sacrificial animals can be carried out for three days from 11 to 13 Dzulhijjah with a focus on the slaughterhouse.
"If the slaughterhouse has limitations, it can be done elsewhere by referring to the SE Minister of Religion No. 17 of 2021," he said.
