Running Away From Home, This Child Is Used As A Prostitute In Kalibata And Jagakarsa Apartments

JAKARTA - The police arrested a pimp with the initials AWR (20) for a child exploitation case. She made a student satisfy the lust of a masher.

Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Yusri Yunus, said the victim, in this case, was a 15-year-old student.

The disclosure of this case stems from a report about a case of a child running away from home last June. Shortly after, there was information if the victim's photo was displayed on the MiChat messaging application.

"Communications from the family and our PPA (Women and Children Services) investigators know that the child is displayed in the MiChat application", Yusri told reporters, Friday, July 16.

This information is investigated. Police later received information that the perpetrator placed the victim in two apartments in Jakarta.

"The child is accommodated and placed in 2 apartments in the Kalibata and Jagakarsa areas", said Yusri.

Based on this information, the police arrested the perpetrator. From the results of the examination, the perpetrator deliberately turned the victim into a prostitute.

Meanwhile, from the perpetrator's confession, the victim is said to have served the masher four times.

"(The victim) ran away (from home) so she met the person we suspect was", said Yusri.

Currently, the police are still developing the case. It is strongly suspected that other perpetrators are members of the group.

"It is possible that there will be other suspects. Everything is still under our investigation", said Yusri.

Meanwhile, the pimp is suspected of under Article 76 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, and the person concerned is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of 10 years.
