TNI Commander Ensures Drug Preparedness For COVID-19 Patient Isoman

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto confirmed the readiness of government-assisted drugs and vitamins in warehouses for COVID-19 patients undergoing self-isolation (isoman).

The TNI Commander together with National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and BNPB Head Lt. Gen. Ganip Warsito inspected and directly inspected the medicine and vitamin warehouse for residents undergoing isomanism, at Kodim 0618 Bandung, Friday, July 16.

The checks were carried out to ensure that the packages of free medicines and vitamins aided by the government were stored safely and on target to be distributed to residents who were carrying out isoman due to exposure to the COVID-19 virus according to President Joko Widodo's orders.

During a dialogue with the Village Development Officer (Babinsa) who is in charge of the drug warehouse, the TNI Commander said that as the head of the warehouse who knows the amount of drugs to record the incoming and outgoing drugs.

"Drugs that come out must be based on a request from the Koramil, how many packages one, two, and three come out must be recorded and then where the medicine is stored," said the TNI Commander, quoted by Antara.

The plan is to support 3,430 drug packages, but currently only 620 packages have been collected.

"The composition of the package consists of 5 types of drugs, then package 3 is intended for residents with positive PCR results with complaints of fever and cough," said Babinsa who served in the warehouse.

The distribution of free medicines and vitamins for residents undergoing isoman due to exposure to the COVID-19 Virus has been launched by President Joko Widodo on Thursday, July 15.

"We want to make sure that it has reached the hands of the people who are implementing self-isolation in accordance with the drug packages given," explained the TNI Commander.

There is also a package of free medicines and vitamins that government aids for seven days for isoman residents have been distributed by the TNI since Thursday, July 15 to Java and Bali through PT Kimia Farma to Kesdam followed by Kodim, Koramil, Babinsa, and puskesmas doctors.

In addition, the TNI will continue to distribute the same amount of medicine and vitamin packages to isoman residents outside Java.

The drug and vitamin package, namely package one for residents with positive PCR for COVID-19 without symptoms or OTG. Package two for residents with positive PCR for COVID-19 accompanied by complaints of fever and loss of smell. This drug package requires consultation and a doctor's prescription.

The distribution of 300 thousand packages of drugs and vitamins is divided into three stages of delivery, every week 100 thousand packages.

The puskesmas doctor will assign the patient to receive a package of drugs and vitamins, then the village midwife with Babinsa will hand it over to the underprivileged patient who is undergoing isomanism in their respective homes.

The side effects of these drugs are monitored by the village midwife together with Babinsa which will be reported in stages to the Head of Health and the Provincial Health Office for follow up.

In addition to distributing 300 thousand packages of free medicines and vitamins, the TNI has sent 54 health workers (nakes) from Career Officers School Students (Sepa PK) using Indonesian Air Force Hercules aircraft to Bandung (15 personnel), Semarang (24 personnel), and Solo ( 15 personnel), to carry out the vaccination campaign.

"The storage of medicines and vitamins in the warehouse of Kodim 0618 Bandung is in accordance with standards including recording and monitoring of incoming and outgoing drugs, and the coordination between the puskesmas, Babinsa, and Bhabinkamtibmas has gone well," said the TNI Commander.

He emphasized that the puskesmas must have a database of anyone who is sick so that Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas provide the medicine with the assistance of the puskesmas until it reaches the community.

"Report to the head of the puskesmas if they are OTG (people without symptoms) and will be given medicine, as well as those with mild ODG (people with symptoms) will be given medicine and don't be afraid, all will be well served by the puskesmas accompanied by Babinsa and Babinkamtibmas, " he explained.
