Terate Grieves, Cases Of Death Due To COVID-19 Increase To 51 People

JAKARTA - The Ternate City COVID-19 Task Force, North Maluku, stated that there had been an additional case of death due to exposure to the coronavirus, so that the number of cases has now increased to 51 people from March 2020-July 2021.

"It is true that there are residents in Ternate being treated at the Chasan Boesoerie Ternate Regional General Hospital (RSUD) due to exposure to the coronavirus, but since Monday, July 12 night at 23.00 p.m. local time, it was reported from the Hospital that the patient died", said the Head of Operations of the Handling Task Force. He explained that the Ternate City Task Force team immediately carried out the burial of the corpse at the Chasan Boesoserie Hospital Ternate, then buried at the COVID-19 burial site in Maliaro Village, Central Ternate District on Tuesday (13/07) this afternoon with health protocol procedures.

According to him, that the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Ternate City, from June to July 2021, because there are many people who ignore health protocols when they are outside their homes. This is the reason for the increase in cases of coronavirus in this area.

"Currently the status of the Ternate City Government is in the red zone of the spread of COVID-19 so that restrictions on community activities are imposed from 22:00 p.m. to 05:00 a.m. Eastern Indonesia Time, it is hoped that these restrictions can reduce the rate of transmission of the coronavirus in Ternate City", he said.

In addition, he said, the curfew limitation was based on the agreement between the Mayor of Ternate and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum by controlling the announcement which was a follow-up to the instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 15 of 2021 concerning Micro-scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

Therefore, continued Arif, the Task Force also continues to patrol the area to disperse community activities that cause crowds of people, even some who do not wear masks are immediately tested for antigen swabs by the health team.

"After an antigen swab test was carried out for people who roamed without wearing masks, it turned out that a number of results were reactive for COVID-19".
