FKM-UI Survey: Half Of Jakarta Residents Have Been Infected With COVID-19, Most Are Without Symptoms
JAKARTA - The number of COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta continues to increase. On Tuesday, July 13, a positive case of corona in Jakarta infected 12,182 people.

Because the capital city is always the highest subscriber of cases, the FKM UI pandemic team conducted a survey related to the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 positive antibodies in DKI Jakarta. As a result, 44.5 percent of Jakarta residents were said to have been infected with the COVID-19 virus.
The serological survey was carried out by FKM-UI together with the DKI Jakarta Health Service, the Eijkman Institute, and the Indonesian CDC. The survey method used is a stratified multistage sampling design, with a total sample of 4,919 or 98.4 percent of the target sample of 5,000 people aged 1 year or older.
The sample is spread over 100 urban villages in 6 regions (5 cities and 1 district) in DKI Jakarta Province. Data and specimen collection was carried out on 15-31 March 2021, with the detection of SARS CoV-2 antibodies using the tetracore-luminex assay.
Based on the survey results, FKM UI Epidemiologist Pandu Riono explained, half of the population in Jakarta had been infected with COVID-19. With the number of women more infected.
"Half of the population of Jakarta has been infected with COVID-19 or 44.5 percent, with the female gender being higher," Pandu said in the Perception discussion, Tuesday, July 13.

The number of samples exposed was 41.0 percent male and 47.9 percent female. The infection is also said to spread almost evenly in every age group of the population, mostly at the age of 30-40 years.
Pandu said the highest number of infections was in Central Jakarta with 53.7 percent. While the lowest is in the Thousand Islands with 39.3 percent.
