World's Deepest Swimming Pool Opens In Dubai

DUBAI - The world's deepest swimming pool for underwater diving has opened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Visitors can dive to a depth of 60 meters to enjoy the sunset-themed views and play arcades.

Dubai, a tourist and business city in a desert region with scorching temperatures, has a reputation as a hub for record-breaking luxury attractions, such as indoor snowy ski slopes, massive water parks, and the world's tallest building.

The newly opened pool area is equivalent to six Olympic swimming pools and has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the deepest swimming pool in the world.

Deep Dive Dubai says their pool is 15 meters deeper than the other deepest pools.

The pool is shaped like an oyster in homage to the UAE's pearl diving tradition and is the largest underwater film studio in the region, the company said.

Divers can descend into an underwater city equipped with sound and lighting. There are two air-dry chambers when descending down.

Visitors can also learn scuba diving with air tanks and freediving by simply holding their breath while underwater.
