3 Journalists Covering Italia Are COVID-19 Positive, One Of Them Guiding All Azzurri Matches At Euro 2020

JAKARTA - Three journalists who normally cover the Italian national team tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, two days before the Gli Azzurri play their Euro 2020 final against England.

Among the three journalists are commentator Alberto Rimedio, who is always in charge of all Italy matches at Euro 2020, as well as two technicians, one of whom lives in Florence near the headquarters of the Italian national team, according to an RAI source quoted by Reuters.

The media center at the Italian national team's training base in Coverciano immediately underwent sanitation following the news.

However, there is no concern that exposure to COVID-19 will spread to players who undergo strict protocols.

A number of players had tested positive for COVID-19 before Euro 2020 was held and even left them out of the squad as happened with Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.

Meanwhile, several other players such as Spain captain Sergio Busquets and his partner Diego Llorente as well as Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski and his partner Mattias Svanberg continue to strengthen their country.

In the midst of the tournament, young Scottish midfielder Billy Gilmour also tested positive for COVID-19, which spread to two England players Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell having to self-isolate.
