Most Of The New Positive Cases Of COVID-19 From East Java

JAKARTA - East Java Province is the region with the most number of new positive cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, May 30 compared to 33 other provinces. This is based on data compiled by the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19.

Government spokesman for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto said the addition of positive cases in East Java was 199 people, bringing the total accumulation to 4,613. The addition tends to increase from the data reported on the previous day, namely 101.

"East Java, if we compare it with yesterday's data, there is an upward trend," said Yuri in Jakarta, Saturday, May 30.

According to him, the addition of positive cases in East Java exceeded the figure reported by DKI Jakarta, namely 101 people.

The addition of positive cases that occurred in DKI Jakarta, in this case, was not entirely obtained from the administrative area, but from Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were repatriated or returned from abroad who were treated at the Emergency Hospital of Wisma Atlet Kemayoran.

“DKI Jakarta compared to yesterday's data tends to decline. However, specifically for DKI, not all of them come from the administrative area of DKI Jakarta. Because we all know that together with most of our brothers who work abroad and return to their homeland, the entry is through Soekarno Hatta airport, ”said Yuri.

"It is the government's stipulation that we have to do an examination and some of them are positive for COVID-19 confirmation. Only the data will be included in the DKI Jakarta Provincial group. However, this does not indicate that this is an administrative condition for DKI Jakarta, "Yuri added.

Apart from East Java, followed by DKI Jakarta, the most additional positive cases were also reported by three other regions including South Sulawesi Province, then Central Kalimantan and West Java.

"West Java, although the figure is still high, compared to yesterday it tends to fall," Yuri explained.

Furthermore, the government, through the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, also recorded that the accumulated number of additional COVID-19 patients per day was 523 people, bringing the total to 7,015.

For information, the increase in the number of recovered patients is at the same time the highest record during the reported cases of COVID-19.

Then the positive confirmed cases also increased to 25,773 after the addition of 557 people and cases died to 1,573 with the addition of 53 people.

The accumulated case data was taken from the results of 311,906 specimen examination tests carried out using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method in 91 laboratories, Melocular Rapid Test (TCM) in 54 laboratories and network laboratories (RT-PCR and TCM) in 174 labs. Overall, 216,769 people were examined and the results were 25,773 positive (cumulative) and 190,996 negative (cumulative).
