Crazy! COVID-19 As Of July 7 Breaks Record Again: 34,379 New Cases, Deaths Breaks 1,040

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 199,143 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 34,379 new positive cases of COVID-19.

Today's new cases are the highest number during the pandemic. Previously, the number of COVID-19 consecutively set a record at 31,189 new cases on July 6, 29,745 cases on July 5, 27,233 cases on July 4.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2,379,397 people and active cases are 343,101 cases," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Wednesday, July 7.

Today's recovered cases increased by 14,835 cases, bringing the total to 1,973,388 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,040 people and a total of 62,908 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 9,366 cases and a total of 610,303 cases. Followed by West Java which has 8,591 new cases with a total of 425,206 cases. Central Java has 3,823 new cases and a total of 276,598 cases. Then, East Java has 2,548 new cases and a total of 184,624 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 3,705 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 3,655 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 2,802 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 1,045 recovered cases.

None of the provinces reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 20,982,248.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 39.25 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 93,407 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently 34,039,797 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 14,443,813 the second dose of vaccination.
