COVID-19 Patients Soar, Bogor City Hospital Recruits Health Workers

BOGOR - The Bogor City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) recruited around 60 health workers to be placed in the RSUD and Hospital Expansion Hospital, following the surge in positive COVID-19 patients.

Deputy Director of Medical Nursing and Supporting Services at the Bogor City Hospital, Sari Candrawati said as many as 60 health workers were recruited, namely doctors and nurses as well as other health workers, to be placed in hospitals and in the hospital expansion hospital.

According to Sari Candrawati, there are 230 beds for inpatients at the RSUD. The number of COVID-19 patients that must be handled so that the Regional Hospital opens a new unit for treating COVID-19 patients by reducing public patient care places.

The new unit was prepared inside the building or by setting up an emergency tent. "The Hospital also manages the Expansion Hospital, previously known as the Field Hospital with a capacity of 64 beds, in the Pajajaran GOR Complex," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 6.

Meanwhile, there are currently less than 100 beds for general patients in hospitals, namely for patients with heart, cancer, kidney, dialysis, and chemotherapy. The hospital also opened emergency tents for general patient emergency rooms and general patient care areas with a capacity of 20 beds.

"The old ER was already full of COVID-19 patients. General patients could not be combined with COVID-19 patients, so an ER was made for general patients in a tent," he said.

To handle the increasing number of patients, the RSUD recruited more health workers, which was about 60 people. "Until now, only 20 directors have been able to be placed in the Hospital Expansion Hospital," he said.

According to Sari, at the Hospital Expansion Hospital, although the capacity is up to 64 beds, because there are only 10 health workers, it can only treat about 18 positive COVID-19 patients. "We are still recruiting to add more health workers," he said.
