COVID-19 Update As Of July 6th: Consecutive Record, 31.189 Cases Today

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 183.053 specimens were examined with the result that there were 31.189 new positive cases of COVID-19.

Today's new cases are the highest number during the pandemic. Previously, the number of COVID-19 consecutively set a record at 29.745 new cases on July 5 and 27.233 cases on July 4.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2.345.081 people and active cases are 324.597 cases", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Tuesday, July 6.

Today's recovered cases increased by 15.853 cases, bringing the total to 1.958.553 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 728 people and a total of 61.868 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 9.439 cases and a total of 600.937 cases. Followed by West Java which has 7.239 new cases with a total of 416.615 cases. Central Java has 4.048 new cases and a total of 272.775 cases. Then, East Java has 1.808 new cases and a total of 182.076 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 6.100 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 3.524 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 1.428 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 1.077 recovered cases.

None of the provinces reported zero new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 20.783.105.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 39.25 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 86.969 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.

Currently, there are 33.176.029 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 14.267.980 of the second dose of vaccination.
