Vice President: Sky Highway Is An Important Capital Towards A Digital Indonesia
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the provision of high-speed internet facilities at the district and city levels or the Sky Toll Road is an important capital to move towards a digital Indonesia.
This was conveyed by Vice President Ma'ruf when giving a public lecture on the LXII Regular Education Program (PPRA) and the XXIII Forces Short Education Program (PPSA) of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) in 2021 online from the vice president's official residence in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 6.
"The basic infrastructure is not only intended to support distance learning but more broadly as an important capital towards a Digital Indonesia", said the Vice President, quoted by Antara.
The Sky Toll infrastructure development is also supported by the Republic of Indonesia Satellite (Satria) I, whose launch is targeted at 2023, with high data transmission of up to 150 Gigabits per second (Gpbs).
The current state of the COVID-19 pandemic is also a challenge for the Government and the entire community to develop creativity and innovation by utilizing technology.
The Vice President is also aware that the COVID-19 pandemic is also a challenge to create superior human resources (HR), through the education sector.
"Indonesian human resources must be prepared to be able to compete and quickly adapt to changes and developments in information technology that disrupt all fields", he explained.

The face-to-face conventional learning system, continued by the Vice President, is currently required to transform into online learning because the pandemic conditions are not yet possible.
"The challenge of online learning is faced with the factual condition of the geographical distribution of the Indonesian population, which consists of thousands of islands, with different capabilities and availability of technological support from one region to another", he said.
Therefore, the Vice President hopes that the Sky Toll Road can be an effort to distribute the internet network in all districts and cities in Indonesia, thus supporting the implementation of distance learning in the education sector.
