PPP: The Entry Of Chinese Foreign Workers To Makassar Is Not Right When PPKM Is Emergency

JAKARTA - Secretary of the PPP faction of the DPR Achmad Baidowi criticized the presence of 20 foreign workers (TKA) from China who entered the Sultan Hasanuddin Airport area, Makassar, on the first day of the Emergency PPKM in Java-Bali.

"The entry of 20 Chinese foreign workers to Makassar during the Emergency PPKM is very inappropriate from the time aspect," said Baidowi, Monday, July 5. the public feel there is special treatment.

"In fact, it may have complied with the provisions, but the limited information has caused public suspicion," he said.

Awiek, as he is called, admits that he is not at all anti-investment. The chairman of the PPP DPP also understands that there is a need for manpower for national strategic program projects. However, because the timing is not right, it causes the wrong response in the community.

"It's different when the arrival of the TKA is not at the same time as the Emergency PPKM, so the public does not have suspicion and jealousy. This also repeats the incident when the foreign workers entered at the same time as the ban on going home some time ago," explained Awiek.

Therefore, the East Java legislator appealed to the government to pay attention to public sensitivity. He said, every policy must be synchronized with other things so that good intentions are not misunderstood.

"Don't let the maximum efforts of the government to break the chain of the spread of COVID be disrupted by things that can actually be anticipated," said Awiek.

The immigration authorities ensured that the entry of 20 Chinese foreign workers would not be a problem because it was a domestic flight.
"There is no problem with Sultan Hasanuddin's arrival to Sultan Hasanuddin," said Head of the Immigration Division for the South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Region Dodi Karnida when asked for confirmation, Sunday, July 4.
