'Balck Widow' Director Reveals Possible Sequel Without Scarlett Johanson
JAKARTA - Director Cate Shortland talks about the Black Widow story which is likely to continue without the character Natasha Romanoff. Shortland revealed this in a recent interview with the Radio Times.
Shortland confirmed the news that this film will be Scarlett Johansson's final appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, she hints that there is potential to develop a story with a different character.
"I think continuing with a different character, yes", Shortland said when asked if a Black Widow sequel could happen.
Previously, Johansson expressed her sad feelings for leaving the Black Widow character. But on the other hand, she was happy with the way the production so far.
"She (Johansson) wants to leave. And I don't think she wants to come back for a while", said Shortland.
She also hopes to direct a Black Widow sequel if given the chance. Unfortunately, she doesn't know if the next focus can shift to the character Yelena, played by Florence Pugh.
