The issue of the death of the founder of the Gerindra party was reported by Gerindra party politician Sufmi Dasco Ahmad through his twitter page. "Sad news, innalilahi wa innaillaihi rojiun, On July 3, 2021, at around 06.45 WIB, Mrs. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri has passed away at the RSPAD," wrote Sufmi as well as the Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party DPP via his Twitter account, quoted on Saturday, July 3.

Meanwhile, Andre Rosiade, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party, confirmed that the deceased had contracted COVID-19. "Since June 26, he has been hospitalized because he was positively exposed to COVID-19. That's the information I received from the Gerindra Party DPP about him," he told VOI contacted Saturday, July 3.

In the current condition, which is still Emergency PPKM, Andre advised all parties not to visit funeral homes or funerals. "We obey the rules from the government that want to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through this Emergency PPKM. Regarding prayer from anywhere, we can," he said while adding to all parties to pray in their respective ways and beliefs.

He also did not go to the funeral home. Meanwhile, regarding the funeral of the politician from West Sumatra, there is no information on where Rachmawati Soekarnoputri is buried. "I have not received any information about the burial where he will be buried," he said.

What is clear, Andre continued, is that he and the entire Gerindra Party are greatly missed by the departure of the Deputy Chairperson of the Geridnra Party's Board of Trustees. "We are very lost with the death of Mrs. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri. During her lifetime she was very consistent in fighting for the Indonesian nation to remain sovereign and stand on its own feet. She is a role model for all of us," he added.

Indonesia has just lost the nation's best daughter, Mrs. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, the daughter of our first President, Ir. Soekarno," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy through his verified Twitter account @sandiaga_uno_.
