Member Involved In Legal Case, West Papua Police Chief Inspector General Tornagogo: No Mercy

JAKARTA - West Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Tornagogo Sihombing, emphasized that individual members of the West Papua Regional Police who violate the law and code of ethics will be processed. There is no mercy for naughty cops.

Meanwhile, the case involving two members of the West Papua Regional Police in the alleged extortion case in the Sorong City area some time ago is still being investigated by the Propam Division of the West Papua Police.

"For the two members suspected of being involved in extortion in Sorong City, they have been investigated by the Regional Police Professional and Security Division, one of the main officials may also be investigated in this alleged case", said Inspector General Sihombing, in Manokwari, as reported by Antara, Thursday, July 1.

The Head of Police said the same thing was also enforced for three police officers who were arrested for allegedly storing crystal methamphetamine one week ago in the jurisdiction of the Manokwari Police.

"Three members of the group suspected of abusing methamphetamine are still in the process of being investigated internally", said the head of police.

 

Inspector General Sihombing said his party would take firm action against any individual members of the National Police in the West Papua Regional Police and the police ranks who took contradictory actions and had the potential to damage the image of the National Police in the eyes of the public and the state.

The Head of Police also said that the career of a police officer is determined by his loyalty to the duties and responsibilities given by the state as a protector and protector of the community, not the other way around.

"I am committed to not playing games if there are still members of the National Police in this area involved in drugs or acting contrary to the main tasks of the Indonesian police", said Inspector General Sihombing.
