The Weeknd Stars In Sam Levinson's New HBO Series
JAKARTA - Singer The Weeknd will showcase his acting skills through a new series made by Sam Levinson.
Quoting Deadline today, June 30, the series titled The Idol tells the story of a female pop singer who is in a relationship with a club owner in Los Angeles who is also a secret cult leader.
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, will star in the series, write stories, and co-produce The Idol with Levinson.
In addition, there is Reza Fahim, a former nightclub entrepreneur who now works as a writer and partner producer. Likewise Joseph Epstein, Ashley Levinson, Kevin Turen, and many others.

The Idol became The Weeknd's acting debut on television. Previously he acted in the 2019 film Uncut Gems. He was the only name confirmed to play a role in this series, apart from that nothing has been announced to the public.
The Weeknd has also provided voices for the animation Robot Chicken and American Dad! in 2020.
The Idol series became Sam Levinson's work for HBO after the highly acclaimed Euphoria series.
