Ex-Sespri To Stafsus Edhy Prabowo Demanded Lighter Prison Sentence
JAKARTA - Edhy Prabowo's former personal secretary, Andreau Misanta and former staff member, Safri, were each sentenced to prison terms of 4 years and 6 months in the alleged bribery case for permits to export lobster seeds or fry. In addition, both of them were also charged with a fine of Rp. 300 million, subsidiary of 6 months in prison.
"The defendant I, Andreau Misanta Pribadi, was sentenced to imprisonment for 4 years and 6 months and a fine of Rp. 300 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison," said the prosecutor in a trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 29.
"The sentence against Defendant II, Safri, is 4 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 300 million, subsidiary of 6 months in prison," continued the prosecutor.
Prosecutors consider several things in the lawsuit. For incriminating matters, the defendant is said to have not given Edhy Prabowo a view not to commit a criminal act of corruption.
"The actions of the defendants did not support the government's program in eradicating corruption. The defendants as special staff did not set an example in carrying out their duties to help Edhy Prabowo," said the prosecutor.
Meanwhile, for mitigating matters, the prosecutor provided several notes, namely being polite during the trial until he had returned the money related to the case.
"It was polite during the trial, he has never been sentenced, the assets of the defendant Andreau Misanta Pribadi have been confiscated. Then the defendant Safri has returned the money," said the prosecutor.
Previously, in a similar case, former KKP Minister Edhy Prabowo was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 400 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
The prosecutor assessed that Edhy Prabowo had legally and convincingly committed a criminal act of corruption. This is in accordance with the indictment of Article 12 letter a of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
