Denies Batik Air Slipping In Samarinda, Lion Air Management: Pilot Stops Plane Because Asphalt Takes Off Normal Connection
JAKARTA - The management of Lion Air Group denied the circulation of information about Batik Air's flight allegedly slipping during takeoff at Aji Prince Tumenggung Pranoto International Airport in Samarinda, East Kalimantan (AAP) on Monday, June 28 yesterday.
Lion Air Group's Corporate Communications Strategic, Danang Mandala Prihantoro explained that the Batik Air ID-6257 aircraft from Samarinda to Jakarta via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten (CGK) failed to fly but was not due to an accident.
"Batik Air has prepared flight procedures according to operational standards. The aircraft is checked before departure and is declared airworthy and operational (airworthiness for flight). The preparation of services for 76 guests and cargo went smoothly while on the ground," said Danang Mandala in a written statement, quoted from Between, Tuesday 29 June.
He explained that flight ID-6257 is scheduled to depart at 15.15 WITA (Central Indonesian Time, GMT+08) and is expected to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 16.20 WIB (West Indonesia Time, GMT+07).
When the aircraft begins to move towards the runway (runway) via the taxiway (rolling runway / runway). When it was right (perfect position on track) on the taxiway, the pilot decided to delay departure (stop the movement of the aircraft) due to feeling the asphalt surface structure on the runway as abnormal (different as it should be).
"The pilot communicated with air traffic officers and ground handling officers to check," said Danang Mandala.
After the incident, Batik Air received confirmation that the rolling ground in question had to be checked.
For this reason, in order to facilitate the process of moving the position of the aircraft to the apron (parking runway) by being pushed (pulled back), in order to reduce the burden on the aircraft, all guests and cargo are unloaded.
"Guests are returned to the waiting room to get services and further information," added Danang.
He said the process of withdrawing the aircraft took around 3 hours until the plane was in the parking lot.
"Batik Air expresses its gratitude for the coordination and cooperation with all parties, so that the process of moving the plane's position runs smoothly," said Danang.
He added that to ensure operational safety and security aspects, Batik Air postponed the departure of flight ID-6257 to Jakarta.
"We received information that the runway is still being repaired and the airport's operational time has run out and the conditions are getting darker," said Danang Mandala.
