Papuan Police Letter To Minister Of Home Affairs Requesting Permission To Arrest Mamberamo Raya Regent Suspect For Corruption In COVID-19 Funds
JAKARTA - The Papuan Police have written to the National Police, Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, regarding the arrest permit for the Regent of Mamberamo Raya, DD. He was named a suspect in the case of corruption in the COVID-19 funds for the 2020 fiscal year.
The reason is that arrests can only be made after obtaining permission from the Minister of Home Affairs. Later, the National Police Chief through the Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency will forward the arrest permit to the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian.
"The permit (for the arrest) has been sent to the National Police Chief", said Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri when asked for confirmation, Tuesday, June 29.
The reply letter or response from the Minister of Home Affairs will be followed up by the police. The Papuan Police are now waiting for a decision.
"Furthermore, we will wait for the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department to submit a letter to the Minister of Home Affairs. (For more details) we can confirm it with the Direskrimsus", he said.
