RSDC Wisma Atlet Starts Focusing On Treating Comorbid COVID-19 Patients
JAKARTA - The Special Emergency Hospital for COVID-19 (RSDC) Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, Jakarta has begun to focus on treating symptomatic positive patients who have congenital (comorbid) diseases. COVID-19 patients who have no comorbidities will be treated elsewhere.
"We are making adjustments to face the changing dynamics of COVID-19 cases, which have increased recently. The goal (sorting, ed) is so that the treatment of COVID-19 patients can be carried out as much as possible," said the Coordinator of the RSDC Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Major General TNI Dr. dr. Ratmono's assignment was quoted by Antara, Friday, June 25.
COVID-19 patients without comorbidities, Task Ratmono explained, are being treated at the Pademangan Athlete House and the Nagrak Marunda Flats. The two places are currently under the management control of Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 patients with mild, moderate, and severe symptoms who have comorbidities are treated at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital, because they have a greater risk of illness compared to patients without comorbidities.
Congenital diseases that are often found in COVID-19 patients include diabetes, kidney disorders, lung disorders, and hypertension.
"The equipment at the Kemayoran Athlete's Wisma RSDC is more complete than the Pademangan Athlete's Wisma and Nagrak Flats which have just opened," said Task Ratmono, who also actively serves as Head of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) Health Center.
Prior to the spike in positive cases in the last few days, the Wisma Atlet RSDC only accepted COVID-19 patients with mild and moderate symptoms. However, currently, COVID-19 positive patients with severe symptoms are also accepted.
This step was taken by the management of the Kemayoran Athlete Hospital, because the special referral hospital for patients with severe symptoms was overwhelmed because it accommodated patients beyond its capacity. As a result, many patients have to queue for admission to the ER or other treatment rooms such as the HCU and ICU.
"RSDC Wisma Atlet Kemayoran has upgraded (quality improvement, ed) so that it can treat COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms, but of course they are prioritized to be treated at referral hospitals, explained the Morning Task Ratmono.
In the same statement, dr. The task is to explain that the Pademangan Athlete's Wisma and Nagrak Flats have accommodated COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms and without comorbidities.
"Wisma Atlet Pademangan has been used several times as a place for self-isolation if the occupancy of Wisma Atlet Kemayoran increases," the TNI doctor added.
Meanwhile, the Nagrak Flat, which recently started operating, consists of four towers. Three of them are prepared to treat COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms.
But for now, only Tower 3 is used as a place for isolation and treatment of COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms without comorbidities.
In the same statement, dr. Ratmono's task is to ask the public to increase awareness and discipline in implementing health protocols, including wearing masks, washing hands and staying away from crowds.
According to him, the handling of COVID-19 cannot only rely on treatment, but must also be supported by preventive measures taken by the community.
Therefore, he asked the public to always wear masks. “The tagline (slogan, ed) is a fixed price mask. Not wearing a mask can die," said dr. Ratmono's job.
