Military Resort Command: Young Generation Must Believe Papua Is Part Of Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Military Resort Command (Danrem) 172/PWY, Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan, said his party held a social communication activity (Komsos), to build a common understanding about handling unresolved problems in Papua.
The Komsos activities were carried out with the TNI extended family from FKPPI (Communication Forum for Retired TNI/Police), PPM (Pemuda Panca Marga), and HIPAKAD (Army Retired Sons and Daughters Association) at the Makorem Hall, Abepura, Jayapura City, Tuesday, June 22. This activity is themed “Perkuat Pancasila Sebagai Alat Pemersatu Bangsa dalam Rangka Menjaga dan Mempertahankan Kedaulatan NKRI”.
Moreover, Danrem reminded that the government is currently trying to develop Papua. “Infrastructure development is being promoted by the government, through special autonomy. Of course, it must also be accompanied by building a quality next generation of the nation, who adheres to Pancasila as the foundation of the life of the nation and state", said Military Command in an official broadcast received by VOI.
Danrem further said that the younger generation of Papua must understand and believe that Papua is part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and that is final. For that, there is no need to worry anymore. Moreover, it has gone through a process determined by the United Nations.
“Pancasila is rooted in the character of the Indonesian nation which consists of various ethnicities, religions, and races so that it is the glue of existing differences. We hope that the younger generation of Papua can implement Pancasila in their daily lives, to strengthen the unity and integrity of the nation, especially in maintaining security and stability in Papua", said Military Resort Command 172/PWY.
