Napoli's Tough Steps To Return Emerson Palmieri To Italy: Lack Of Funds And Rivaled By Inter
JAKARTA - Napoli wants to return defender Emerson Palmieri to Italy. However, they are constrained by financial problems.
Reports in Italy on Sunday suggested the Partenopei's plans to sign Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri were not easy. Besides tripping over financial problems, they also have to compete with Inter Milan.
As Corriere dello Sport reported on Monday, 21 June, the fact that Napoli does not qualify for the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League means they cannot have the money to sign the Italy international.
Emerson Palmieri currently earns 4 million euros a year at Stamford Bridge. This is an income that Napoli will almost certainly not be able to match.
Another way that can be done by Napoli, asking Chelsea to pay part of the salary of the 26-year-old player. But, it's an agreement that is also difficult to reach.
