COVID-19 Rises Drastically, Cianjur Regent Delays Face-to-Face Learning

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, has again postponed the face-to-face learning trial (PTM) due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in a number of areas, including the discovery of a new cluster of medical personnel and refugees.

"It was planned that at the end of June a PTM trial would be held, but since the holiday until now, the rate of transmission has increased again, so the plan has been postponed, including the holding of PTM in July," said Cianjur Regent, Herman Suherman, quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 20.

He explained, it is very likely that the PTM will be postponed again until a time limit that cannot be determined, but to prepare according to the target, his party continues to boost vaccination for all teachers in Cianjur, as an effort to anticipate transmission.

In fact, while waiting for confirmation, his party appealed to schools to prepare supporting facilities, including handling and isolation rooms at schools, so that when a case is found it can be handled early in the school environment while waiting for the task force.

"To date, 6,383 positive COVID-19 people have been recorded in Cianjur, 5,404 of whom have recovered and the rest are still undergoing isolation in a number of places. In the last week, a cluster of the public health centers and refugees have been found in Cibeber Subdistrict," he said.

Various efforts, he said, were carried out by local governments, including limiting the activities of residents in areas prone to transmission, from north to south. His party also intensified data collection carried out by the sub-district, village, and RT level.

"The active role of the task force up to the RT level continues to be encouraged to collect data. When they find positive cases, they are immediately isolated and searched, including immigrants from outside the city who do not have a COVID-19 free certificate are prohibited from crossing," he said.
