Tamagotchi Come Back, Become A Modern Watch

JAKARTA - In the 90's Tamagotchi was in great demand because the game was quite easy. But now, Tamagotchi has come up with a more modern and colorful smartwatch.

Citing Gizmodo, Sunday, June 20, Tamagotchi's parent company, Bandai Namco, recently announced the birth of a modern form of the game made in Japan, to coincide with Tamagotchi's 25th anniversary.

Even though it is modern, the reincarnation of the Tamagotchi Smart still retains its iconic egg shape and comes in two pastel colors, namely pink and teal, wrapped with a strap suitable for adults to wear.

The difference lies in the color touch screen is no longer monochrome and a number of other technological advances features. The touch screen allows users to wake up pets and pet them virtually.

Other features include a pedometer and digital clock, as well as wireless connectivity for interacting with other Tamagotchi users who have similar devices.

With this update, Tamagotchi users can take care of their virtual pets using the touch screen and voice control. Unfortunately, the voice control is not sophisticated nor can it understand certain commands or words. But this system can be used to talk directly to pets.

Unfortunately, this smartwatch will not be compatible with other Tamagotchi devices. Remember, Tamagotchi Meets/on uses Bluetooth and Pix uses a QR code, while Tamagotchi Smart uses a TamaSma card which is sold separately by Bandai.

For information, Tamagotchi Smart can be used by users to collect new pet characters. This is a physical key that can be linked to a Tamagotchi Smart to obtain exclusive characters and content.

The Tamagotchi Smart will be on sale in Japan starting November 23 at a price of 7,480 yen or the equivalent of 980 thousand. Not yet known for sure whether Tamagotchi will be marketed globally.
