AGO Successfully Brings Fugitive Adelin Lis Home To Jakarta
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has finally brought home the fugitive from the corruption and illegal logging cases Adelin Lis from Singapore to Jakarta. Adelin Lis' return to Indonesia was confirmed by the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, which invited the media to attend a press conference on Saturday at 19.30 WIB.
"It is hereby informed to the crew of the television media, print media, online media, that the Center for Legal Information at the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia will deliver a press conference related to the return of the fugitive (DPO) on behalf of the convict Adelin Lis," read the message from the AGO Legal Information Center, Saturday, June 19, quoted from ANTARA.
The news of Adelin Lis' return to Indonesia has also been broadcast by a number of media through social media, Saturday, accompanied by a photo of the fugitive being on a Garuda Indonesia plane.
Adelin Lis was repatriated using a Garuda Indonesia commercial aircraft which was scheduled to land at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at around 19.40 WIB.
Adelin Lis has been a fugitive since 2008, on the Interpol red notice list. In 2006, when Adelin Lis was about to be arrested at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, she and her bodyguards resisted and beat the staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing and fled.
The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore has coordinated with the Attorney General of Singapore to convey the wishes of the Indonesian Attorney General. The biodata about the crimes committed by Adelin Lis has been submitted to the Singapore Attorney General's Office.
The Attorney General of Singapore understands this case very well. However, he said, the authority for repatriation rests with the ICA (Singapore Immigration), the Ministry of Home Affairs (Ministry of Home Affairs) Singapore.
The Indonesian Embassy has officially conveyed the wishes of Indonesian law enforcers to allow special pick-ups for the high-profile fugitive.

On the one hand, Adelin Lis's son has written to the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office asking that his father be allowed to return to Medan alone and will come to the Medan District Attorney's Office.
Adelin Lis even booked a ticket to Medan for a flight on June 18, 2021, even though when she was fined by a Singapore court she asked to be paid twice because she admitted to having financial difficulties. Andelin also asked that he be detained at the Tanjung Gusta Prison.
Adeline Lis is known to have fled to China and was arrested by the Indonesian Embassy in 2006. However, the next day she managed to escape after dozens of unknown people ganged up on four Indonesian Embassy officers who were guarding her. After that, he could be arrested again with the help of the Beijing police.
In 2008 Adelin fled again until he was caught again in March 2021 in Singapore.
Adelin was sentenced to 10 years in prison, a fine of Rp. 1 billion, and a replacement money of Rp. 199 billion for a corruption case. Rumors circulated that Adelin Lis, a fugitive from the Attorney General's Office, was arrested by Singapore immigration for falsifying passports.
