Kemenkop UKM Wants Leading MSMEs Can Apply For KUR Up To Rp20 Billion

JAKARTA - A study on the National Economic Recovery Program (PEN) for MSMEs, as released by the Demographic Institute of FMB UI, shows that 99% of MSMEs that have registered and received government assistance are able to bounce back during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This assistance is expected to be a stimulus so that MSMEs can survive during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Fiki Satari, Special Staff of the Coordinating Minister for Small and Medium Enterprises for Creative Economy Empowerment, conveyed that the Presidential Assistance (Banpres) for Productive Micro Enterprises that has been distributed so far has reached 9.8 million micro-enterprises or equivalent to Rp. 11.76 trillion.

This amount reached 77% of the total budget ceiling of Rp16.36 trillion. The second productive Banpres will be re-opened this June by targeting 3 million micro-enterprises.

The Kemenkop UKM is also reviewing the financing of people's business loans (KUR) for leading MSMEs to be able to get credit of up to Rp. "We hope that this can be determined by the government soon," explained Fiki in an online discussion.

BRI's Director of Small & Medium Business, Amam Sukriyanto, admitted that he was ready to welcome the government's increase in KUR to IDR 20 billion.

"We are happy to wait for the new government regulations if later we can disburse KUR of up to Rp20 billion," he said.

"MSMEs in Indonesia in Indonesia are now starting to rise, although they have not recovered like 2019, because many have switched to digital. We recorded around 5 million new players in the online marketplace during this pandemic. Like it or not, MSMEs must enter the digital world or marketplace in order to survive," said Ikhsan Ingratubun, General Chairperson of the Indonesian MSME Association (Akumindo).
