COVID-19 Update As Of June 16: New Cases Almost Reach 10 Thousand

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 92.6280 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 9.944 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.937.652 people and today's active cases have increased by 3.519 to 110.660 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, June 16.

Today's recovered cases increased by 6.229 cases, bringing the total to 1.763.870 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 196 people and a total of 53.476 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 2.599 cases and a total of 305.285 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 2.376 new cases with a total of 425.339 cases. Central Java has 1.251 new cases and a total of 188.494 cases. Then, East Java has 702 new cases and a total of 144.973 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 1.511 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 1.278 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 596 recovered cases, and Riau Islands with an additional 499 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases today. The province that reported zero new cases was North Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 18.174.981.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 20.22 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 110.660 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 21.448.774 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 11.815,618 vaccinations for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40.349.049 people.
