The Reason The AGO Has Not Taken A Stand On The Punishment Of Pinangki Who Was Circumcised

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has yet to take a stand regarding the decision of the DKI Jakarta High Court which reduced Pinangki Sirna Malasari's sentence from 10 years to four years.

Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Ali Mukartono, said his party would take legal action after obtaining a copy of the decision from the Central Jakarta District Attorney.

"We haven't received a report from the Central Jakarta Kejari, we just got it from social media, we haven't received a copy of the verdict," said Ali as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 16.

According to Ali, his party will first study the report on the appeal decision when it is received.

As is the case with the legal effort (cassation) made by the Prosecutor against the decision on appeal of the corruption suspects of Jiwasraya Insurance. The Attorney General's Office looks at all possibilities to take legal action, such as looking at what kind of evidence is.

"We respect whatever the judge's decision, whether high or low, is the judge's authority, but our attitude will be after we read and study the decision," said Ali.

In line with Ali, the Head of the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Riono Budisantoso, also admitted that he had not received a copy of Pinangki Sirna Malasari's appeal decision from the DKI Jakarta High Court. Therefore, it has not determined the position for the next step.

"The prosecutor must study the decision first, especially the considerations. After that, he can act," said Riono.

The appeal panel of PT Jakarta, chaired by Muhammad Yusuf with judges Haryono, Singgih Budi Prakoso, Lafat Akbar, and Renny Halida Ilham Malik on June 14, 2021, reduced the decision of the Pinangki prosecutor Sirna Malasari to 4 years and a fine of Rp. not paid is replaced with imprisonment for 6 months.

The appeal decision cut the verdict of the Central Jakarta District Court on February 8, 2021, sentenced to 10 years in prison plus a fine of IDR 600 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
