Fadli Zon Thinks General Andika Is Suitable To Be Commander In Chief: Can Raise TNI's Prestige Internationally
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Fadli Zon, supports the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Andika Perkasa to become TNI commander to replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, who will retire in November this year.
Fadli who is also the chairman of the DPR's Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Andika is the best figure among the three dimensions in the conditions and situations that Indonesia is currently facing.
"In my opinion, the most suitable in the current situation is General Andika Perkasa," Fadli Zon told reporters, Tuesday, June 15.
Apart from Andika from the Army, other candidates for commander-in-chief are Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono and Chief of Air Force (KSAU) Marshal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo.
This member of the DPR Commission assessed that Andika Perkasa was a warrior with rich achievements who was able to move dynamically with full discipline. According to Fadli, General Andika is a professional figure and can see dynamic geopolitical challenges.
"General Andika can respond well, can communicate and interact with the international military community. This is needed," he explained.
For this achievement, Fadli believes Andika Perkasa can bring back the dignity of the TNI.
"General Andika can re-evaluate the authority of the TNI at the national and international levels," said Fadli Zon.
