Police Chief Asks Bobby Nasution To Permanently Close Karaoke Places In Medan That Provide Drugs

MEDAN - Medan Police Chief Kombes Riko Sunarko asked Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution to permanently close one of the night entertainment venues in the form of karaoke or KTV on Jalan Haji Adam Malik. INI KTV is suspected of providing drugs to visitors.

He conveyed this after his party found hundreds of ecstasy pills during a raid some time ago.

"What is clear is that after we call and check from the management, we have prepared that we will write to the mayor to evaluate the permit. We recommend that it be permanently closed," said Kombes Riko, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 14.

His party has also summoned the manager of the nightclub for further investigation

"We've called the manager, RG alias Kiki, but he hasn't come yet. We're also waiting for the results of the examination later," he said.

Previously, the Medan Polrestabes detained 51 drug users based on the results of urine tests, while raiding a nightclub on Jalan Haji Adam Malik, Medan.

Riko said that from that location the police also confiscated evidence in the form of 285 ecstasy pills and money from selling ecstasy of more than Rp. 17 million.

The hundreds of ecstasy belonged to the management of the nightclub which was deliberately provided for sale to visitors at a price of Rp. 300,000 per item.
