Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, denied there was a surprise replacement for the National Police Chief.

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, denied the news of a presidential letter or surprise regarding the replacement of the National Police Chief. The rebuttal was conveyed by Habiburokhman via mobile phone, Tuesday, August 4, following the circulation of issues regarding the replacement of the leadership of the National Police.

"It is not true that there is a presidential letter about replacing the National Police Chief," Habiburokhman told reporters via text message, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 4.

The representative of the Gerindra Faction asked the public not to be easily influenced by issues that are not clear about their sources and foundations.

"We appeal to the public not to be influenced by issues that are not true and have no basis," he said.

A similar statement was made by Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Ahmad Sahroni. He ensured that until now there has been no presidential letter regarding the replacement of the National Police Chief received by Commission III.

"We don't have it, we haven't had it at all," said Sahroni when met at the DPR building, Jakarta.

According to Sahroni, he also did not know about any official documents related to the issue. Therefore, he considered that there was no urgent reason to change the leadership at the police institution.

Surpres is a presidential letter that is usually sent to the DPR for certain processes that require parliamentary consideration or approval.

The issue of the replacement of the National Police Chief has once again become a public concern after the Head of the Special Development and Investigation Control Agency, Aries Marsudiyanto, was asked about the surprise news at the Presidential Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 4.

Initially, Aries was asked by reporters whether the surprise replacement of the National Police Chief was really there.

"Oh, wait for the right time," said Aries.

The question was again asked to Aries. He was asked if the surprise had been handed over.

"The position in the world will definitely be replaced. Nothing is not replaced, right. It just depends on the time, Mr. President," he said.

Aries also did not confirm whether the surprise had been sent to the DPR.

"Hahaha, just wait," said Aries.
