Prince George Doesn't Want to See William and Kate Riding Tandem Bikes

JAKARTA - Prince George doesn't need many words when asked about the possibility of seeing his father and mother riding a tandem bike. The eldest son of Prince William and Princess Kate only answered briefly.

"No."

The light moment happened when the Wales family attended the Commonwealth Games at the Hydro Arena, Glasgow, Scotland, at the weekend.

USA Today, quoted Tuesday, August 4, reported that Prince William and Princess Kate brought their three children, Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, to the sporting event.

At the time, TV presenter Gethin Jones asked George if he wanted to see his parents ride a tandem bike at the velodrome the same day.

A velodrome is a track cycling arena.

George immediately answered one word. William then followed up with a joke.

"We've done enough to embarrass you," Prince William said, according to Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper.

The Wales family attended the global multi-sport event on Saturday, August 1. The Commonwealth Games are held every four years and compete in many branches, ranging from wheelchair basketball, artistic gymnastics, boxing, cycling, para-swimming, to weightlifting.

After the event, William and Kate shared their impressions via Instagram.

"What an amazing atmosphere at the Commonwealth Games today," they wrote.

"Witnessing world-class talent competing and seeing the power of sport uniting people is truly special," they wrote.

On July 23, King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. The two also declared that the event was officially opened.

For Prince Louis, this event also has its own story. For the first time, he joined his brothers and sisters to watch a public sporting event in front of the world media spotlight.

The three young royals were greeted warmly. They also received souvenirs, including a souvenir doll and a bucket hat from Team Wales.

Louis, known for his cheeky and adorable antics, was seen wearing the hat. He was grinning from ear to ear as he watched from the stands.

Previously, George and Charlotte attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London with William and Kate. Louis did not attend the event.

The appearance at the Commonwealth Games comes as George prepares to start a new school in September. He will follow in the footsteps of his father and uncle, Prince Harry, by attending Eton College in Berkshire, England.

The boys' boarding school is known to be prestigious. The cost is around 84,400 US dollars per year and its location is not far from the Wales family's home, Forest Lodge.

On July 22, William and Kate marked George's 13th birthday by sharing a new photo of their son. The couple also posted a short video on Instagram.

The video shows George enjoying outdoor activities, from playing sports on the beach to jumping from a cliff into the sea.

George is second in line to the British throne after his father.

This summer has also been quite busy for George. He was the main guest at Trooping the Colour, the annual ceremony to celebrate the official birthday of the reigning monarch.

George also had his first official visit with Kate. The two commemorated Armed Forces Day at the Royal Air Force base in Lincolnshire, England.
