Police Hold Reconstruction of the Murder of a Student in a Gomong Mataram Dormitory Room

MATARAM - The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, held a reconstruction of a case of alleged theft with violence resulting in the murder of a student with the initials NDR in a dormitory in the Gomong area.

Head of the Mataram Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Deputy Commissioner of Police I Made Dharma Yulia Putra, said there were 44 scenes played by the suspect named Haikal in the reconstruction in the victim's boarding house area and Punia area, the suspect's house.

"So, these 44 scenes are not only in the victim's house that we are witnessing together, there are also other crime scenes in the Punia area. For this crime scene, there are 35 scenes," said Made Dharma after carrying out reconstruction in Gomong, Mataram, Monday, August 3, reported by ANTARA.

Of the 35 scenes that took place in the dormitory area, there were several scenes that became the focus of attention regarding the suspect's actions to end the victim's life.

"Starting from the 17th scene, where the suspect beat the victim until the victim was unconscious, continued to check the victim with his hand approaching the victim's nose which still had breath, and the suspect took the pillow to end the victim's life. That's until the 28th scene," he said.

Meanwhile, Agung Kunto representing the investigator's file from the Mataram District Attorney's Office who was also present in the reconstruction said that his party had witnessed all the scenes staged by the suspect.

"We witnessed more than what the suspect himself did. So, there was no directed scene, all of which were experienced by the suspect and adjusted to the examination report," said Agung Kunto.

By witnessing the scene at the scene of the murder, Agung as a prosecutor stated that there was no event outside the examination report.

"Everything is in order, there are only a few stages reversed," he said.

The police conducted a reconstruction of this case referring to the alleged violation of the crime of depriving a person of life in an act of robbery with violence.

This criminal offense is regulated in Article 458 paragraph (1) of Article 479 paragraph (3) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

The police also named Haikal as a suspect by applying the criminal article.

From the results of the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect committed other crimes, related to possession of sharp weapons and persecution.

So Haikal in the suspect status was charged with layered articles. He was also suspected of Article 307 paragraph (1) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 466 paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
