Congratulations, Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin Win the Taipei Open 2026 Trophy
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles badminton players Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin secured the title of the 2026 Taipei Open.
In the final round which took place at the Taipei Arena, Taipei, Sunday, Leo/Daniel silenced the Malaysian pair Aaron Chia/Aaron Tai two games straight 23-21 and 21-19.
Starting the first game, Leo/Marthin lost control of the game against the attack pattern launched by Aaron Chia/Aaron Tai.
The Malaysian pair made Leo/Daniel quite difficult to enter the interval with a lead of 11-8.
After the interval, Leo/Daniel was able to play much more calmly and solidly to score six consecutive points and turn the tide to 16-12.
The match got more intense when the two doubles traded attacks, but Leo/Daniel managed to lock in the victory through a 23-21 drama.
Entering the second game, the intensity of the game was much higher when the two doubles exchanged points for points.
Aaron Chia/Aaron Tai again showed his flying hours by being able to trouble Leo/Daniel to lead 11-8 until entering the second game interval.
After the break, Leo/Daniel tried to change the pattern of the game by playing more patiently. Slowly but surely, the strategy bore fruit until Leo/Daniel turned the position and closed the second game with a victory 21-19.
With the title won by Leo/Daniel also makes the Indonesian badminton team return home not empty-handed.
Previously, there was no Indonesian representative in the sector except for the men's doubles who were able to advance to the final round of this BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament.
