Trump boasts of peace talks, Gaza residents are under Israeli bombs every day

A number of Palestinians were wounded in Israeli attacks in the northern and southern Gaza Strip on Friday, where residents face bombings that occur almost daily since Israel and Hamas agreed to a fragile ceasefire in October 2021.

The attack in the Sheikh Radwan area, north of Gaza, injured a man and a child, Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, told CNN.

Footage from the hospital's grounds showed several men carrying a limp girl onto a stretcher.

Further south, an attack wounded a man in Khan Younis, according to Gaza's Civil Defense.

A total of 1,219 people have died as a result of Israeli attacks since October 11, the Palestinian Ministry of Health told CNN on July 31. Of these, 287 were children, according to the health ministry.

On average, almost one child has been killed in Gaza every day since October, based on CNN's count of health ministry data.

This latest attack comes hours after the White House claimed a diplomatic breakthrough on a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

On Friday, July 31, Hamas senior negotiator Ghazi Hamad told CNN that the group's disarmament within the framework of the US-led ceasefire agreement depended on Israel fulfilling its obligations - including stopping attacks on Palestinians.
