Amos' Grandfather Dies After Falling In A Narrow Well In Sorong Papua

PAPUA - The Sorong National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) office evacuated the body of Amos (60), a resident of Malawei Village, behind the GOR, who fell into a well. When evacuated, Sunday, June 13, the victim had already died.

"After receiving reports from local residents, the team immediately went to the field to evacuate but the victim was dead and was immediately taken to the hospital for further processing," said Thamrin of the Sorong Basarnas field team when met at the case location, Antara, Sunday.

Thamrin admitted that the well was narrow, only one meter deep with a depth of 7 meters. The victim was found in a pinched state, namely the legs above and the head sideways. The condition of the victim made it quite difficult for officers to evacuate.

The head of RT01 RW05, Malawei Village, Elli Kaiway, said that the victim Amos was found to be in a well when his younger brother was going to the well to draw water.

"The witness immediately informed me and I immediately reported the incident to the police and Basarnas," said Elli.

Elli added, it is possible that Amos' victim fell at night when it rained heavily. Nobody knows what happened that night.
