COVID-19 Update Saturday, June 12: Beware! New Cases Soared To 7,465, One-third Are In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive COVID-19 cases for today, Saturday, June 12 at 12.00 WIB with a record addition of 7,465 cases. This number is less than Friday, June 11, which had 8,063 positive cases of COVID-19.

The report also revealed that the daily cure rate increased by 5,292 with a mortality rate of 164 cases.

In detail, the largest increase in positive cases occurred in DKI Jakarta with a record of 2,455 cases. This figure reflects the capital region accounted for almost a third of all confirmed cases today nationwide.

Followed by Central Java with 915 cases, West Java with 876 cases, and DI Yogyakarta with 436 cases.

Meanwhile, for the areas with the most recovery, Riau Islands with 970 people, West Java 768 people, DKI Jakarta 725 people, and Riau with 561 people.

Then, the highest death rate was in Central Java with 37 cases, East Java with 28 cases, and DKI Jakarta with 19 cases.

In terms of vaccination, it was recorded that 20,044,187 people had received phase I vaccine with a special addition today of 374,219 people.

Then, for the second phase of the vaccine, it is known that it has been distributed to 11,559,138 people with the addition of 33,500 people. Meanwhile, the vaccination target targeted by the government for the current period is 40,349,049.

Recently, the government is said to be trying to vaccinate up to 700,000 doses per day for the June 2021 period. This is intended to achieve the vaccination target of 1 million doses per day so that herd immunity can be achieved in the first quarter of 2022.
