Replacement for Jampidsus to be Decided Soon, Presidential Decree Targeted to be Issued in Two Days

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto will soon appoint the final Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes or Jampidsus. The decision is targeted to come out in one to two days.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the Attorney General had sent an official letter to the President containing a proposal for the name of the candidate for Jampidsus.

"Insyaallah one or two days from now there will be a decision and the President will sign the presidential decree for the appointment of the new officials," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 21.

Jampidsus' current position is still held by the acting officer after the previous official resigned.

According to Prasetyo, the proposed name will be discussed through the mechanism of the Final Assessment Team before the decision is signed by the President.

He said there were several other officials who were proposed. However, the Palace was not ready to reveal the names before the presidential decision was published.

"Let it be a decision first so that we can later convey it to media friends and the public," he said.

Prasetyo said Prabowo also considered the appointment of a new Jampidsus. The President also asked for input and assessment from a number of parties before making a decision.

However, he did not explain in detail the considerations used.

"Not everything can be conveyed to the public. In making decisions, of course, there are many things to consider," he said.

The President's special message to the new Jampidsus has also not been conveyed. According to Prasetyo, the direction will be given after the definitive official is determined.
