Kuwait Military Repels Drone Attack from Iran

Kuwait City - The Kuwaiti military is again at war with Iranian drone attacks, hours after Tehran launched a series of attacks on US allies in the region.

In a post on the X platform, the Kuwaiti military stated that the air defense system was "interfering with hostile attacks". The attack occurred at around 14.00 local time.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that such attacks were a serious violation of international law. "The State of Kuwait holds Iran fully responsible for the continuation of these attacks and all their consequences," the ministry said in a statement on Thursday, July 16, reported by CNN.

The Iranian military has not commented on the latest series of attacks in Kuwait.

As previously reported, the Jordanian military's air defense system intercepted and downed eight Iranian missiles heading for the country early Thursday local time.

Debris from the interception fell in several locations, but there were no reports of injuries or damage, the Jordanian Armed Forces said, as quoted by the state news agency, Petra.

The Iranian military claimed to target US military assets in Jordan, including launching a drone attack against communication systems and fuel storage facilities at Al-Azraq Air Base, according to Iran's state news agency IRNA and Press TV.

The US Central Command (US Central Command) has not commented on the Iranian report. Meanwhile, CNN was unable to independently verify the claims.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain reported the sound of sirens and urged residents to seek shelter.

According to the Army General Staff, Kuwait's air defenses are "facing an attack by enemy drones." Iran claimed to have targeted US infrastructure at military bases in Kuwait, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
