Minister of Youth and Sports and DKI Provincial Government Hold Wirasena Youth Camp and Indonesia Youth Summit 2026

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has partnered with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to hold the Wirasena Youth Camp and Indonesia Youth Summit 2026 as part of the series of commemorations of the 100th anniversary of Youth Pledge Day.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir, and the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, at the Balai Kota DKI Jakarta on Monday, July 13, 2026.

This cooperation is a form of synergy between the Central and Regional Governments in preparing a national-scale youth agenda as well as to strengthen the development of the Indonesian youth generation.

Erick said that youth development was one of the Government's priority agendas so that the country must provide a space that is able to encourage young people to develop, innovate, and become drivers of national progress.

"I would like to thank Governor Pramono Anung for the support and cooperation that have been established very well. He is one of the regional heads who always provide support for various Kemenpora programs," said Erick.

Wirasena Youth Camp and Indonesia Youth Summit are not just ceremonial agendas to commemorate the centenary of the Youth Pledge.

Erick emphasized that these two programs are the starting point for building the character, leadership, and competitiveness of the Indonesian young generation in the long term.

"Today we are laying the foundation for the younger generation of Indonesia. Not only to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Youth Pledge Day, but to build the character, mindset, and competitiveness of young people for the next 100 years. Indonesia's future is in their hands," he said.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has made various preparations by studying youth development programs in a number of countries.

So far, communication has been carried out with nine countries, namely the United States, China, Singapore, Australia, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, and coordinated with the United Nations (UN) so that the implementation of the program refers to global standards.

Pramono welcomed the trust given to Jakarta as the host of the two national agendas. He assessed that the program was in line with the DKI Provincial Government's commitment to improving the quality of young human resources through various education and empowerment programs.

"We are ready to support and make this activity a success so that it can provide the greatest benefit for Indonesian youth," said Pramono.

The Wirasena Youth Camp is scheduled to take place on October 21-31, 2026 in the Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) area and a number of supporting locations in Jakarta. The leadership program will be attended by around 5,000 participants who are representatives of youth from 38 provinces with a curriculum prepared by experts.

The Indonesia Youth Summit 2026 will be a forum that brings together ideas, innovations, and collaboration of youth from various regions in Indonesia. A total of 168 selected youth will take part in the forum as part of the 100th anniversary of the Youth Pledge Day.
