Veda Ega hopes to maintain performance in the 2026 German Moto3

JAKARTA - Indonesian young racer, Veda Ega Pratama, hopes that he can maintain his slick performance in the 2026 German Moto3 Grand Prix (GP) after successfully taking first place in the practice session.

The rider from Gunungkidul managed to come out as the fastest with a time of one minute 25.848 seconds at the Sachsenring Circuit on Friday, July 10, 2026. The result was a bright signal after he had difficulty in the first free practice or free practice 1 (FP1).

"Today I am really happy with the results we achieved. This morning I had a little trouble finding the right feeling with the bike so we worked hard with the team to fix it before the afternoon session," said Veda in an official statement.

The 17-year-old racer, who has the status of a rookie or newcomer in Moto3, started the first day in Germany with disappointing results because he only finished in 23rd place in FP1.

Veda said that he could not be satisfied with the results of the practice because there was still a second free practice and also the main race. He also wants good performance in practice to be maintained until the last day of the race.

"Now we have to stay focused, keep working hard, and continue to improve. I will give my best to get good results in qualifying and fight for the maximum result again this weekend," he said.

Veda came to Germany after he failed to finish in Assen, Netherlands. At that time he had a fierce race and had a big chance to get on the podium, but an accident made his efforts evaporate.

Currently, Veda is in seventh place in the standings with 82 points. He is still 129 points behind Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) in the top position.

The runner-up of the 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup had to carry the burden alone for the Honda Team Asia in the 2026 German Grand Prix race because his teammate Zen Mitani was absent due to an injury.

The Japanese racer suffered an injury after a serious accident in the race in Assen, Netherlands, last week. He has successfully undergone surgery this week and immediately started the recovery process so that he can immediately return to the track in the near future.
