Don't be gray! PDIP asked to clarify political position, join the government or the opposition

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PKB Faction of the DPR, Jazilul Fawaid, asked the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) to clarify its political position, whether to join the government or be outside as an opposition.

This statement was made by Jazilul in response to the issue of the involvement of one of the PDIP cadres in a demonstration with students in Jakarta some time ago. According to him, PDIP does not need to take a position that is considered unclear.

"If you really want to be outside the government, please, but don't be gray. That's what I mean," Jazilul said in his statement, Wednesday, July 8.

Jazilul said the parties in the current government coalition are trying to realize President Prabowo Subianto's programs and promises. This effort, according to him, requires unity and solidarity from all elements of government supporters.

He emphasized that the government coalition still respects various different views and opinions. However, the political position of the PDI-P, according to him, needs to be clarified.

"PDIP's current position is still not firm. What is it like as a balancing party? It needs to be clarified. Various events that exist are even more important to ensure this position," he said as quoted by Antara.

Jazilul admitted that he valued a firm political stance. He assessed that the party should show harmony between official statements and actions in the field.

"A firm attitude is certainly more appreciated than saying A but B is doing it," he said.
